FCSSBC & Volunteer BC Volunteer Management Workshop: Culturally Welcoming & Inclusive Volunteer Program (2 Day Workshop)

This workshop is supported by funding from the Community Social Services Training Fund—an initiative by the Province of British Columbia to respond to the training and development needs of those who work with some of BC’s most vulnerable people. Learn more about these other initiatives here.
These workshops, offered in partnership with Volunteer BC, are designed to assist volunteer managers build culturally inclusive volunteer management practices into their programs to help them better attract and retain newcomers, refugees, and Indigenous groups as volunteers while also presenting a more welcoming and inclusive face to their community.
Everyone is welcome to apply, but these workshops are best suited for those responsible for managing volunteers. The content is targeted for small- and medium-sized organizations with no (or limited) dedicated volunteer management departments.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is limited to 35 participants. There is no accompanying webinar.
This two-part workshop series will take place in 4-hour virtual synchronous seminars over a two-week period. Attendance in both sessions is mandatory and required for certificate of completion.

The workshop trainer has extensive experience facilitating training curriculums in volunteer management; intercultural competency development; Anti-racism awareness and intervention training; intercultural conflict resolution; human rights discrimination and harassment; social justice and anti-oppression education; and training in immigrants and refugee integration. The trainer also hold a PhD with a special focus on anti-racism education.
