FAQs
I want to volunteer on my own and get a group together to help out. How do I get started?
Informal Self-organising Volunteers/Groups – Volunteer BC is urging people to exert caution in embarking on informal volunteering (for example, individuals or self-organising groups who are providing support to people affected by COVID-19). Individuals need to consider issues of privacy and self-care and avoid putting themselves and others in the community at risk. This means adhering to recommended social distancing guidelines and other official guidelines. Consider volunteering for existing Volunteer Involving Organizations in your local community. Contact your local volunteer centre.
I am a senior or know of a senior who needs help?
Safe Seniors, Strong Communities Program – matches seniors who need support with non-medical essentials, to volunteers in their community who are willing to help. Contact BC211.
