During National Volunteer Week – Volunteer BC celebrates and recognizes the contributions volunteers make each day. REAPS | Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society
REAPS was established with the mandate of fostering environmental stewardship in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George. For over 30 years, they have raised community awareness on the importance of the three Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle – and the resources available locally to guide residents in adopting a more sustainable lifestyle.
SGSC | South Granville Seniors Centre
The Centre provides a variety of wellness, recreational, educational, multicultural, and food programs for 450+ seniors members an 1,500+ seniors in the community. The majority of these programs are facilitated and supported by senior volunteers, providing older adults with varied opportunities to continue to share their skills and knowledge with others in their later years.
Kidstart
We provide one-on-one volunteer mentoring for children and youth who face challenges at home, school, and in the community.
HiM | Health Initiative For Men
Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization, providing most of our services and programming. Volunteers often become community leaders in our community, working to improve quality and services for the gay, bi, trans, non-binary and 2-Spirit community.
SOS Volunteer Centre
SOS Volunteer shares: When my volunteer roles were suspended due to COVID-19, I felt lost. I recognized that, although volunteering is very important, I needed to look at how to fill my bucket in a more balanced way.
