Understanding Money Matters for Non-Profit Leadership

Understanding Money Matters is a three-part workshop, or learning lab, developed, and facilitated by Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS), a social enterprise offering specialized training to help foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives, cultural differences, and the need for self-determination. Vantage Point is pleased to host this IPS workshop virtually in 2024 to widen access to this financial management training to non-profits across BC.

You are an ideal candidate if you:

  • Identify as a senior staff member at a non-profit organization.
  • Are looking for a refresher of financial concepts that are relevant to your organization.
  • Consider yourself a beginner around financial literacy and want to explore the connection between money and governance.
  • Would like to learn in a way that embeds Indigenous ways of knowing and culture.

Program Outline

This 3-day lab offers training to support strong leadership, accountability, and good governance for leaders. You will be provided with an overview of financial elements that all non-profit leaders should know, to ensure their organization remains financially healthy. The training will increase your knowledge of overall financial management and accounting processes.
