Taking Your Volunteer Interview from Good to Great

As Volunteer Managers/Coordinators you get to meet some of the most fascinating, passionate, and committed people. You interview many volunteers throughout the year and have a good handle on the process. This workshop is all about how to take those volunteer interviews from good to great, and to give you some extra strategies for your tool box so that you can ultimately fit the volunteer to the right volunteer position within your organization, build positive and lasting relationships with your volunteers, and make the volunteer experience memorable, and valuable for all. This will be a hands on workshop, where you will get a chance to practice some of the new strategies.

Topics Include:

  • Listening to what volunteers are really trying to say
  • How to ask really good questions
  • Assumptions & Judgements
  • Giving feedback vs acknowledgement
