We are so proud to introduce you to Bill! He is our recipient of a National Recognition Award from Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Bill has been an integral part of the Habitat for Humanity Okanagan family for the past seven years, contributing his time and skills with steadfast dedication. Bill isn’t just a volunteer; he’s the Habitat ReStore tool go-to guy. His expertise and attention to detail ensure that every power tool is tested and every socket is organized to perfection. Bill also demonstrates his craftsmanship when building shelves and displays for the ReStores. But what truly sets Bill apart is his warmth and humour. He brings joy to even mundane tasks. Bill’s presence is a gift that keeps giving. Thank you, Bill! We are truly grateful for all you do.

Surrey Food Bank

One more time: Celebrating Our Surrey Food Bank Volunteers During National Volunteer Week! Let’s give a huge round of applause to our incredible volunteers! Last year, these amazing individuals dedicated over 31,175.73 hours to collecting donations, sorting food, packing orders, answering calls, delivering food, assisting clients with their registrations, and more. All this hard work ensures our neighbors facing food insecurity have access to healthy, nutritious food, plus tons of kindness and compassion. From April 2023 to 2024, around 382 volunteers stepped up to help the community, each spending an average of 81 hours lending a hand at various events and programs. How amazing is that? We all know that: We live in the Beautiful British Columbia, and we are very proud of our volunteers! They truly make a difference! Take a moment to swipe through the photos to see some of them in action and witness the impact they had over the last year. Like the posts, share and tag a friend who is also a volunteer in another organization. We are ONE, and together EVERY MOMENT MATTER!

Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society

We have such a vast community of Volunteers within our Auxiliary! Below are just a few examples of the volunteers we have within our organization! In our Gift Shop, we have volunteers greeting customers with a smile and conversation as they find what they are looking for. On our Lifeline team, we have volunteers installing the medical alert systems for your loved ones. At our Thrift Shop, we have cashiers, sorters, and pricers ensuring all the donated items are ready to be given a new home. Through our Pillow Pals program, we have volunteers sewing pillows for post-surgery, breast cancer patients. We’ve said it before and we will say it again, our volunteers are the backbone of our Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society. They are the reason we are able to support patient care and comfort at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care.  The next time you swing by our Gift Shop, Thrift Shop, or see that smiling face in blue, tell them how much you appreciate the work they do!

Richmond Food Bank Society

Meet Bill and Brian, our dedicated home delivery drivers! Not only do they deliver grocery hampers every Wednesday, they also help collect donations from nearby organizations. For Bill and Brian, connecting with their neighbours and giving back to their community holds great significance, all while keeping active and getting their steps in. As Bill puts it, “It’s a fantastic way to stay fit!”
