Foundations of Financial Management

This seven week online course takes the often murky and intimidating world of finances and distills them into practical sets of information you can take back into your organizations and implement immediately. During this 7 week program you will cover the topics necessary to fulfil the financial responsibilities of managing a nonprofit including:
Risk management
Budgeting best practices
Dealing with CRA and knowing your responsibilities around payroll, gst and tax filings
Payroll and HR issues
Board fiduciary responsibilities including financial and legal considerations
Roles of the Treasurer, ED and financial staff
Creating a financial policy and procedures framework for your organization
This course is self-paced and each module will stand alone. We will all meet together online for Week 1 which will consist of an overview of the course, navigating the online environment and meeting your online instructor.
After that you will work through the modules 1-7 at your own pace, and you may wish to jump around modules depending upon where you are in your non-profit’s annual financial cycle and your role in the organization.

Starts on Oct 16th $69 for members and $89 for non members.
