Chat and Chew: Bridging the Gap Between Volunteers and Health Care Workers
November 8, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Managing volunteers in health care settings is complex! Nurses, doctors, and care aides are busy, task-oriented people who often work on rotating and casual schedules, making it hard for them to collaborate effectively and purposefully with volunteers. But when collaboration does happen, it’s magic — volunteers are empowered to provide more informed and compassionate support for patients and participants, making it possible for staff to meet more of their care goals.
Has your organization come up with a technique, small or large, that has bridged that communication gap between volunteers and care staff? Let’s share our successes with each other! Each participant will be invited to give a 5-minute presentation about something that has helped communication and collaboration for volunteers in their facility.
Just getting started on staff and volunteer communication and don’t have anything to share yet? Come anyway!
Refreshments will be provided.
This event will take place at
Three Links Care Centre
2934 East 22nd Avenue, (near 29th Avenue skytrain station.)
